Jamie Ager (NC-11)
Red to Blue
Jamie Ager is a fourth-generation farmer, small business owner, and Democratic nominee running for Congress in North Carolina's 11th Congressional District. Born and raised in Fairview on his family's Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Ager earned degrees in environmental studies and history from Warren Wilson College before returning home to build Hickory Nut Gap into a sustainable meat company that today supports 25 employees and works with dozens of farmers across the region.
Only five congressional districts nationwide shifted more toward Democrats in 2024 than NC-11, and Ager is running to be the first Democrat to represent the district since 2010. His campaign has centered on Hurricane Helene recovery, affordable healthcare, and lowering the cost of living for Western North Carolina families. Ager faces Republican incumbent Chuck Edwards in November, and flipping NC-11 is essential to winning back a Democratic House majority in 2026.
