Bale Dalton is a decorated Navy Captain, former NASA Chief of Staff, and Democratic candidate running for Congress in Florida's 7th Congressional District. Born and raised in Central Florida, Dalton graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and has served 24 years in the Navy and Navy Reserve, flying medical evacuation missions in Kuwait, search and rescue flights after Hurricane Katrina, and special operations missions in Iraq and Africa, and directing combat air support with the Navy SEALs in Afghanistan. After active duty, he worked at the State Department and for Senator Bill Nelson in Congress before returning to command the Navy's special operations support helicopter squadron and later serving as Chief of Staff at NASA.

Dalton is running to unseat Republican incumbent Cory Mills, who is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee. FL-07 is a prime pickup opportunity for Democrats in a Central Florida district reshaped by this year's redistricting, and flipping it is essential to winning back a Democratic House majority in 2026.
